REVERSE THE INTENSITY

TAKIS

Takis have been an all time favorite snack of mine. This advertisement of the spicy snack is very well put together. The slogan is “Face the Intensity”. I circled the slogan in green. By putting these words in a box, apposed to the main advertising text, it makes it stand out but in a subtle way. This makes it clear that Takis are intense, which also helps make the advertisement more understandable. The advertisement displays the words “Are You Takis Enough?” Usually this would not make sense, but due to the cleverly placed slogan, it makes it clearer that the meaning of Takis would act as a synonym for brave; are you brave enough to “Face the Intensity”.

Contrast is amazing when creating an advertisement or capturing a photo. The colors, just like the snack are intense and contrasting. On the color wheel purple and yellow are right across from each other, this means they are the most opposite from each other, but in a very pleasing way. Christmas colors are the same, red and green are contrasting but very pleasant to look at. These colors are nice separately, but as they are combined together they make a zinging ad that is not boring. Along with the red from the taki, although it is not a contrasting color, it boosts the color scheme rather than clashing with it. Photos gather more attention when it has contrast.

Color Wheel

In this you can see the rule of thirds. This photo although is not a normal length, in the photo you can see the product(the bag of Takis) would be in that line for rule of thirds. The main focus is the product while simultaneously not taking away from the other creative aspects of the ad. The other aspects being the two different fonts, the big Taki and the slogan.

IN CONCLUSION

The overall post is well designed. The multiple fonts, the rule of thirds, and contrast put a nicely portrayed ad for “Facing the Intensity”.
